The Easter Basket Challenge

CornerStone Staffing has never been a company to back down from a challenge.  So when each of the CornerStone Staffing branch offices was challenged to fill an Easter basket full of goodies and fuzzies and chocolate yummies, they did just that.  In fact, they filled the baskets to overflowing!

CornerStone Staffing is committed to supporting their community through their core vales of:

  • FAITH – Always do the right thing and do not worry about the future.
  • COMPASSION – Actively do unto others as we would have them do unto us.
  • INTEGRITY – In all ways be transparent. Let your yes mean yes and your no mean no.
  • SELF DISCIPLINE – Take control of ourselves.

So when it came time to donate the baskets, CornerStone Staffing identified ACH Child & Family Services in downtown Fort Worth as the recipients.  They are also an organization of FAITH & COMPASSION.  Through their services they teach INTEGRITY & SELF DISCIPLINE.  ACH Child & Family Services’ mission is “Protecting Children. Preserving Families.”  They protect children from abuse, neglect, and family separation, and help children overcome these things when they do happen.  ACH’s Residential Services provide a safe and therapeutic place for children to live when their lives are impacted by abuse, neglect or family separation.  The baskets will be delivered to the children in the Residential Services program on Easter Sunday so that they can celebrate Easter too.

Social Media Madness – DFW Companies Strive To Impact Local Charities!!

Three Dallas-Fort Worth based companies, CornerStone Staffing, Mary Kay and Staff One, are striving to bring home $30,000 in donations for local charities!!

CornerStone Staffing, Mary Kay  and Staff One are representing Dallas-Fort Worth in a contest called Social Madness where each company  could win a $10,000 donation for the charity of their choice.

Social Madness which is sponsored by the Dallas Business Journal and their parent company, American City Business Journal, is a one-of-a-kind competition that measures a company’s social media engagement on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+.  Company scores are calculated based on votes received online and from a scoring algorithm that measured social engagement.

Sixty-five Dallas-Fort Worth companies were competing in three size categories based on each company’s collective social following during the month of June.  A DFW winner in each of the three categories (small, medium and large) was named on July 9th.  The three winning companies, Mary Kay for the large category, CornerStone Staffing for the medium category and Staff One for the small category, began competing against 44 other cities in the national Social Madness competition on Tuesday, July 16th.

After the first day of competition, all three companies are in the Top 20 which is where they have to stay until July 22nd in order to make it through to Round 2.  Debra Hill, Senior Operations Manger at CornerStone Staffing said, “I would love to see Dallas “sweep” the contest and bring all the donation money home to Texas?”

Social Madness: CornerStone Staffing is in the DFW finals

Social Madness: The DFW finals begin

After 30 days of collectively beating out nearly 60 other contestants, the final two companies in each of three categories in Social Madness will compete this week for the DFW championship of the contest that measures a company’s social media engagement.

The winners will represent Dallas-Fort Worth in the national Social Madness competition and could win a $10,000 donation to a charity of their choice, should they win the national contest.

Here are the match ups.

In the Small business category: DealWell.com, a website allowing customers to buy discounted medical services, vs. Staff One Inc., a provider of human resource department services.

In the Medium business category: Cornerstone Staffing matching Dallas and Fort Worth companies and job seekers, will take on Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Dallas/Fort Worth, a movie theater, restaurant and bar.

And in the Large business category, the restaurant chain Chili’s Grill & Bar will compete against cosmetic maker and distributer Mary Kay.

Common threads run throughout the social platforms of the final six companies. Each company has told us they recognize the importance of engaging their followers, friends and visitors with photos, practical advice and a friendly, personal tone.

These companies have ridden the wave of their social media networks this far. Help CornerStone Donate $1,000 to your Favorite Charity!!

CornerStone Staffing is participating in a contest called Social Madness which is sponsored by American City Business Journals.  This contest measures a company’s social media engagement on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus. A local winner in each of the three categories (small, medium and large) will be named on July 9th and go on to compete in a national competition where the winner in each category will have $10,000 donated by ACBJ to a charity of the winner’s choice.

We have made it into the final round for the medium category in Dallas.  You can help us win this round and advance to the national competition in two ways:

  • Vote for us on the Dallas Business Journal’s website:  http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/socialmadness.  You will find us under the Medium tab.
  • Vote for your favorite charity on CornerStone Staffing’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CornerStoneStaffing.  We have been trying to decide on a charity to donate our winnings to (because we plan on winning) but we have not been able to decide on one.  We have three in mind, Special Olympics Texas, Kidd’s Kids, & the Dallas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen.  In an effort to narrow our options to one, we thought we would let the public decide which charity should be the winner by posting all three charities on our Facebook page and asking the public to vote.  Whichever charity gets the most votes will be our charity and will receive the $10,000 donation from American City Business Journal in our name if we win the national contest.  But to make this even more fun (and certainly worth everyone’s efforts), CornerStone Staffing will donate $1 for every vote each charity gets, up to $1,000 per charity.

CornerStone Staffing and Special Olympics Texas

On Friday, June 21st, CornerStone Staffing had a great opportunity to provide volunteer staff for an event that was benefiting Special Olympics Texas.  The “Run or Dye 5K” donated money to Special Olympics Texas for each volunteer that CornerStone Staffing provided for the event for a total donation of more than $600!  Way to go Team CornerStone!! Now that is knowing J.O.Y. at work!
